The school supplies helped the students to have their own class notes instead of having to rely on their classmates for notes and studying. They were able to submit their assignments in their own notebooks. The school supplies were provided to 17 students in June and July, 2026.

The schools do not allow students onto campus without proper school shoes, so providing the shoes allowed them to attend and remain in school without any interruptions. Six students received shoes in June and July, 2026.

The book bags helped them to carry their books and school supplies all in one place, making them easier to transport and reducing the chance that they would get lost. Two students received book bags in June and July, 2026.

Christalis was founded to provide vulnerable and exploited children not only with the essentials they need to survive, but also with the love, support, care, and security that every child deserves. What began through mission trips and heartfelt late-night conversations grew into a shared commitment among Shalini, Elizabeth, and Evon David. Together, they made personal sacrifices to create a safe and nurturing environment in Uganda where children can thrive, receive an education, and embrace opportunities for a brighter future.

Since 2005, Christalis has been providing love, shelter, education, and support to children who have experienced various forms of injustice in southwestern Uganda. The organization supports children from primary school through university, with the vision that each child will become self-sufficient and, in turn, contribute positively to their communities.

Christalis is dedicated to caring for children affected by poverty, neglect, abandonment, hunger, abuse, and exploitation. This mission is carried out through two core initiatives: the Christalis Home and the Child and Family Development Program.

The Christalis Home provides shelter, nutritious meals, clothing, education, healthcare, emotional support, and a loving family environment for children who have been orphaned, abandoned, abused, forced to live on the streets, or faced other challenging circumstances.

The Child and Family Development Program supports children who have a home but whose guardians are unable to meet their basic needs. The program provides school tuition, uniforms, and educational supplies, ensuring that children have access to quality education. In addition, Christalis has been blessed to provide medical care, Christmas gifts, hygiene products, and other essential household items to many children and families.

Beyond meeting immediate needs, Christalis provides holistic support to families living in extreme poverty by equipping them with the skills, resources, and opportunities needed to build sustainable livelihoods and improve their quality of life.

Using a case management approach, Christalis assesses each family’s unique needs, including their physical, financial, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The organization then works alongside families to increase their income and stability through education, vocational training, small business development, employment opportunities, and improved housing.
