Name of the Book: “Hoodi”, a Bangla psychological thriller written by Ahmed Shahabuddin. Hoodi is the first psychological thriller published in Bangla Braille by Sporsho Foundation
Sporsho Foundation publishes braille books for the visually impaired persons of Bangladesh. They are the first publishers of recreational braille books in Bangladesh and distribute the published books for free of charge.
This year for the Ekushey Book Fair 2024, Sporsho Foundation published 50 copies of “Hoodi”, a psychological thriller by Ahmed Shahabuddin, a renowned author in Bangladesh. This is a two volume book.
Many copies of Hoodi were available at the Ekushey Book Fair. Many copies of this book and other Sporsho Foundation published Braille books were distributed to the visually impaired attendees on the last day of the Ekushey Book Fair for free of charge. The remaining copies of the book were sent to various libraries and schools outside of Dhaka, Bangladesh at no cost. It is estimated that several hundred visually impaired people will have access to this book free to charge.

A total of 50 copies were published. The two volume books were distributed for free of charge to the visually impaired attendee at the Ekushey Boi Mela. The remaining copies of the book were sent to various libraries and schools outside of Dhaka, Bangladesh at no cost. It is estimated that several hundred visually impaired people will have access to this book free to charge.

With this vision, Sporsho for the first time in 2011 launched a book stall for the visually impaired in the largest extravaganza of books in the country (Bangladesh), the “Ekushey Boi Mela”.
Since 2008 Sporsho has published over 150 Braille books in 16 years. The other accomplishments include establishing Sporsho Braille Corner :
- National Public Library, Bangladesh
- National Children Academy, Bangladesh
- Various Schools and Colleges all over Bangladesh
Sporsho Foundation also supports 154 underprivileged students around Bangladesh with scholarships under the “Jyoti Project”.
During the winter of 2023, Sprosho Foundation Distributed Winter apparels to more than 1,000 household in many parts of Bangladesh
